About Waikawa Bay School
Waikawa Pa School opened in 1877; it was established on the old nine-acre landing reserve known as ‘The Oaks’.
In 1928 the school was completely destroyed by a fire. A temporary school was established until the Waikawa Bay School opened on the current site in October 1929.
The school roll has grown over the last 5 years and we currently have around 150 children ranging from New Entrant to Year 6.
